Wagas maka-request! China asks NBI to put up Chinese desks
Due to increasing incidents of crimes involving Chinese nationals, the government of China has asked the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) to form a Chinese desk, said NBI Deputy Director Ferdinand Lavin.
“We hope that it will happen within the first quarter,” he said.
The NBI spokesman said the Chinese government were also concerned a bout the rising cases of crimes involving Chinese nationals in the Philippines.
Because of this, he said Chinese government officials met with the NBI back in December 5 on how to address the matter.
“Last December we had a bilateral meeting with high level representation from the Chinese embassy,” he said.
“They intend to put a desk or a post at the NBI manned by a Chinese representative from their government and work with our agents for profiling and sharing of information,” he added.
