Malacañang suspended government work in the Executive Branch starting 3 p.m. today, in celebration of 27th National Family Week.

This would give state workers “more time to spend with their families,” said Memorandum Circular No. 65 signed by Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea.

Exempted from the work suspension are government agencies whose functions involve the delivery of basic and health services, preparedeness/response to disasters and calamities, and/or the performance of other vital services.

“The suspension of work in other branches of government and in independent commissions of bodies is left to the sound discretion of their respective heads/management,” a portion of the order read.
