Lack of government regulations on money transfer businesses is one of the reasons the Philippines have become a hot spot for online exual exploitation of children (OSEC), Justice Undersecretary Emmeline Aglipay-Villar said on Saturday (May 30).

Villar said the Filipinos’ proficiency in the English language has made worse and allowed foreigners to become patrons of OSEC materials in the Philippines.

“Ang mga factors na ito, taken together, ang nagiging dahilan para ang Pilipinas ang binansagang global hot spot of OSEC,” the undersecretary said.
