Walang sintomas! BuCor: Inmates, jail personnel with COVID-19 set to complete quarantine

Persons deprived of liberty (PDLs) and personnel of the Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) with the deadly 2019 coronavirus are expected to be out of quarantine this coming weekend.

“They can be released this weekend, Saturday or Sunday, since they have already completed the mandatory quarantine period,” said BuCor Spokesman Gabriel Chaclag.

“They have actually exceeded the 14-day quarantine period since by that time,
they were in quarantine for at least 21 days,” he added.

Chaclag noted that all of them remain asymptomatic.

There are currently 50 PDLs placed at the quarantine facility at the New Bilibid Prison (NBP) in Muntinlupa City and 49 of whom are female inmates from the Correctional Institute for Women (CIW) in Mandaluyong City.

Aside from them, there are 82 PDLs at the Bilibid and 11 at the CIW who are suspected with COVID-19.

While, 13 CIW personnel are also suspected with the virus.

Three BuCor PDLs have already died after from COVID-19 including 2 from CIW and one from Bilibid.
