Stop wangwang on the road.
Former Senator JV Ejercito has called on President Duterte to launch a crackdown on motorists abusing car sirens to skirt road rules.
The former senator made the appeal after noticing the rampant use of car blinkers and sirens by certain motorists. He also observed the rise in convoys of vehicles missing the sirens to get ahead of others during traffic.
“Proliferation of blinkers & sirens very noticeable these days. Both cars and motorcycles. Dami rin convoy,” he tweeted.
Ejercito said the country’s President and next three government officials are allowed to use car sirens. Policemen, fire trucks and ambulance may also use these equipment, he added.
“Wangwang is definitely back! PRRD should stop this,” he said.
