In an unprecedented move, the National Security Agency and other intelligence agencies have begun keeping information from United States President Donald Trump and the White House, the British daily The Observer has reported.
Citing sources, the Observer said the NSA and its affiliates are wary of sharing information with the White House because of the possibility that a Russian mole is included in its ranks.
“Since January 20, we’ve assumed that the Kremlin has ears inside the SITROOM,” a senior Pentagon official said, referring to the conference room inside the White House.
Due to the suspicion about the Trump team’s Russian ties, the NSA said it no longer prepares special reports containing highly sensitive information for the President.
Trump has been accused of having cozy ties with Moscow, with Russians supposedly helping him win in the elections.
