Welcome to the club! Lacson announces Nancy Binay as ‘macho bloc’s’ newest member
The so-called “macho bloc” in the Senate has gained a new member in the person of Senator Nancy Binay.
Senator Panfilo Lacson announced Wednesday (June 5) that the group is making Binay an adopted member– and she can’t do anything about it.
“Sen Nancy, the macho bloc is unanimous in making you an adopted member. You just sealed it. Reconsideration is out of the question,” he tweeted Binay.
Aside from Lacson, the “macho bloc” is composed of Senate President Tito Sotto, Senator Grace Poe and Senator-elect Lito Lapid.
Lacson had expressed admiration for Binay for offering a teaching job to their family’s former mortal enemy, Senator Antonio Trillanes IV, since his term will end on June 30.
“Senate camaraderie at its best in the 17th Congress: Sen Nancy Binay offered graduating Sen Trillanes a teaching job at the University of Makati with 24-hr free parking at the Makati parking lot, plus free admission to the Ospital ng Makati and free burial in the Makati cemetery,” he tweeted.
Lacson later clarified that he made the comment about free parking and burial in jest.
Binay replied to Lacson with an image with the phrase, “Smile! Spread the love!”
