What has Chiz done for Manila? Erap reveals why he endorsed Poe-Marcos tandem

Former President Joseph Estrada believes only Senator Grace Poe deserves his endorsement because her running mate, Senator Francis Escudero, did not do anything for Manila.

Estrada on Tuesday (March 29) justified his support for Senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.’s vice presidential bid as he revealed his true sentiment about Escudero.

Asked why he did not endorse Poe’s running mate, the mayor said: “Dito sa Maynila, wala siyang nagawa. Baka sa Bicol, eh hindi naman iyon sakop ng Maynila.”

Estrada then admitted that he endorsed Marcos’ candidacy as an “act of gratitude” to the senator’s mother, former First Lady and re-electionist Ilocos Norte 2nd District Rep. Imelda Marcos.

As the former governor of Metro Manila, Estrada said Imelda helped provide homes for 26,000 families in Tondo through the BLISS program she implemented.

He said the former First Lady was also able to provide jobs to the poor.

“Marami siyang nabigyan ng trabaho. Sa Parola, kahit magtanong kayo doon, sa Puting Bato, sa Baseco, marami siyang natulungang mahihirap sa Maynila,” Estrada said.
