Expect President Rodrigo Duterte’s 4th State of the Nation Address (SONA) on July 22 to be “more open” and “towards policy direction.”

In a media interview on Wednesday, Cabinet Secretary Karlo Nograles said the Cabinet clusters have already submitted to the Office of the President their accomplishment report in the past year.

“I don’t want to preempt but the theme is, because we are in our midterm, then it’s sustaining the growth, sustaining patuloy na pagbabago, sustaining what is already accomplished, sustaining tapang at malasakit,” Nograles shared.

“Yung peace and order program will still obviously be focused. But now we are moving towards Malasakit (program) so you will so more of our poverty reduction programs. Yan ang magiging direction natin sa last three years,” he added.

Malacanang earlier announced that Duterte’s Cabinet will hold pre-SONA activities showcasing the gains of the government in the weeks leading up to this year’s SONA.

The three-part forum taking place in Metro Manila, Cebu City, and Davao City will be organized by six Cabinet clusters.

“Each forum will include an open forum with Cabinet secretaries and officials of each cluster and will be live-streamed in the Facebook pages of the Presidential Communications Operations Office and its attached agencies such as PTV and Radyo Pilipinas,” said Palace spokesman Salvador Panelo.
