Who is Eduardo Rodriguez? Senate may summon exec of dialysis chain at next hearing on PhilHealth row
A certain Eduardo Rodriguez could be the key to unlocking the mystery behind B. Braun Avitum, the controversial dialysis chain that seems to have special treatment from the Philippine Health Insurance Corp. (PhilHealth).
Sen. Panfilo Lacson said Rodriguez’s name surfaced as a managing director of the “company,” which is not registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
“Nakakuha kami ng isang notice ang nakapirma managing director, a certain Eduardo Rodriguez. We’ll find out. Kung managing director siya he must be one of the incorporators. May pangalan naman. But how can we validate that kung walang SEC record? May certification kami from SEC hindi registered ang B Braun Avitum,” Lacson told reporters.
He said they are still looking into the ownership of the dialysis center chain, which has received P45 million from PhilHealth in COVID funds even if it does not handle COVID patients.
Lacson said he will advise the Senate secretariat to invite Rodriguez to the next hearing.
“I will advise the secretariat (to invite Rodriguez to the next hearing) dahil record naman yan, may pirma siya roon. Ang Eduardo Rodriguez, managing director ipapatawag namin to clarify sino ang mga incorporators sa B Braun para magkaintindihan. Hanggang ngayon misteryo ang B Braun Avitum,” he said.
Meanwhile, Lacson indicated the Senate may also invite the two PhilHealth officials who put up P49,000 in inconvenience fees for money supposed to go to B. Braun Avitum.
