Who’s the snitch? Robredo asks PET to probe info leak to Glenn Chong
The camp of Vice President Leni Robredo has prodded the Supreme Court (SC), sitting as the Presidential Electoral Tribunal (PET), to investigate the leakage of 2016 poll logs to former Biliran representative Glenn Chong.
“Despite his lengthy discussion on why he should not be held accountable for the data in his possession, Atty. Glenn Chong still managed not to address the issue,” read Robredo’s motion.
Back in September, Robredo asked the PET to investigate the leak since Chong is not a party to the election protest of former Sen. Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.
Robredo sought the investigation after Chong presented audit logs of Ragay, Camarines Sur during a Senate hearing on electoral reforms last August 7.
Apart from this, Chong has been posting on his Faecbook page copies of the pleadings and PET resolutions.
Robredo pointed out Chong, in his defense, only submitted “a lengthy discourse on alleged electoral fruad which are immaterial to the real issue — how was he able to get copies of the audit logs from the Municipality of Ragay, Camarines Sur?”
On the other hand, Marcos has already disowned Chong before the PET.
“He (Chong) was never given any authority to represent and/or speak for and on behalf of protestant Marcos,” read the comment of Marcos.
