Lawyer Larry Gadon is set to appeal the decision of the Supreme Court (SC) which turned down his and Solicitor General Jose Calaida’s request to be provided with copes of the statements of assets, liabilities and net worth (SALNs) of Justice Marvic Leonen.
“I am going to file a Motion for Reconsideration on the denial of my request to the Supreme Court for the release of AJ Leonen’s SALN,” Gadon said in a statement.
The lawyer stressed that the SC has no reason to deny his request for copies of Leonen’s SALN.
“It is the right of every citizen to secure copies of SALNs, that is provided under the law,” said Gadon cited that this allowed under the Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Government Officials and Employees.
“More so from the Supreme Court from where on record has a precedent of releasing the same to me in the case of Sereno,” he added.
Gadon reminded that the SC gave him copies of the SALNs of ousted chief justice Ma. Lourdes Sereno prior the filing of a quo warranto petition against her that led to her ouster.
