Wife of Imee Marcos’ ex scoffs at vow to sign waiver on ill-gotten wealth: Wala sa bangko pera niya!
The wife of Ilocos Norte Governor Imee Marcos’ former lover has delivered a short but meaningful clapback about the politiko’s vow to sign a waiver on her family’s ill-gotten wealth.
In a tweet posted Sunday (February 10), Aurora Pijuan retweeted an article about Imee’s willingness to sign a waiver to prove her family didn’t amass wealth illegally.
Pijuan’s retweet was accompanied by the comment, “Because ill gotten wealth is not kept in banks.”
During GMA News’ senatorial debates over the weekend, Imee said she has no problem signing a bank waiver because she has been filing her Statement of Assets, Liabilities and Net Worth (SALN).
The Marcoses were estimated to have amassed ill gotten wealth amounting to as much as $10 billion during the nearly three-decade rule of Imee’s father, the late President Ferdinand Marcos.
The Presidential Commission on Good Government has recovered only about P170 billion of the Marcoses’ ill gotten wealth.
Pijuan, a beauty queen, is married to golfer Tomas Manotoc, who had an affair with Imee.
The governor and Manotoc have three sons. They eventually separated.
