Willie Revillame blasts Rappler for claiming he ‘hijacked’ Palace briefing: Nanira ‘di naman alam istorya!
Willie Revillame has called out Rappler for reporting that he “hijacked” a briefing of Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque last week when he appeared there as a guest.
Revillame explained why he attended Roque’s press conference during the episode of his game show, “Tutok to Win,” on August 10.
He said Malacanang had asked if Roque could hold his regular briefings at the host’s studio in Quezon City as the usual venue at the Palace was closed due to the rising number of COVID-19 cases.
“Kami ho nag-ayos niya, early morning, para ho may magamit si Secretary Roque,” he said. “Bumalik sila last Friday, nung last Friday po sabi niya, ‘Baka huling na naming itong araw, pwede bang lumabas ka lang para lang mapasalamatan kita ng personal.’”
Revillame took issue with Rappler’s article titled, ““Willie Revillame hijacks Roque press briefing to promote charity, GMA7 show.”
Hinijack ko daw yung programang ‘yon,” he said.
“Never akong mangha-hijack.
Rappler reporters have been banned from Malacanang since 2018.
