Withdraw Duterte Youth nomination as sacrifice? Casiño says Cardema not qualified in the first place
Former National Youth Commission chair Ronald Cardema has nothing to sacrifice when he withdrew his nomination as Duterte Youth party-list nominee, according to a former lawmaker.
Teddy Casiño, former Bayan Muna representative, told Cardema that he was not qualified to become a youth nominee from the very start.
The Commission on Elections division earlier disqualified Cardema, 34, since he was too old for the party-list youth post. Under the party-list law, a youth nominee must be aged between 25 to 30 years old on election day.
“There’s nothing to sacrifice KASI HINDI KA NAMAN TALAGA QUALIFIED,” Casiño tweeted.
Cardema has filed his notice of withdrawal before the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) so the party-list group can finally take its seat in Congress.
“With all humility, I withdraw from my nomination to sacrifice myself for our party-list so that the Comelec can immediately release the Certificate of Proclamation of the Comelec-approved succeeding nominee and to give justice to the votes of 350,000 Filipinos,” he said in the notice.
