‘You’re the real heroes:’ Hontiveros thanks health workers in the fight vs coronavirus
Health workers are the true heroes in the fight against the coronavirus outbreak.
Senator Risa Hontiveros said she would rather thank the health workers fighting in the frontlines rather than China as shown by President Duterte.
Duterte, in his public address announcing the lockdown of Metro Manila, thanked China for offering to help the country in containing the coronavirus spread.
“Instead of thanking China,I’d like to thank our health workers who have been at the frontlines against COVID-19,” Hontiveros tweeted.
“You have been working tirelessly in the name of public health & safety. You are the real heroes,& I am thankful for your service to our people. Marami pong salamat!” she said.
Hontiveros also asked the government to release the clear guidelines on the implementation of the community quarantine in Metro Manila. She said the people have “the right to a coherent government.”
“We should strive to express clear communication of policies,” she said.
“There is a lot to clarify. I urge the IATF to release guidelines & parameters of the community quarantine immediately,” she said, referring to the interagency task force for the management of emerging infectious diseases.
