The office of Senator Leila De Lima has launched a fact-checking website in a bid to fight the false information spreading against her.

The website, trueleilaproject.com, is aimed at being a one-stop destination for Filipinos to verify information about De Lima.

Aside from containing facts about De Lima, the website will also feature articles disproving the false information about her.

De Lima, who will mark her 1,000th day of detention on November 20, said she cannot just let people who spread false information about her win by doing nothing.

The senator is detained at the Philippine National Police Custodial Center in Camp Crame for her alleged involvement in the illegal drug trade as Justice Secretary under the Aquino administration.

“[W]e must fight them, and the best way to fight them is to slap them with the truth,” De Lima said.
