Zero waste tip: Legarda brings own bamboo cutlery

0 42

Former Senator Loren Legarda is part of the BYOC (bring your own cutlery) movement.

Legarda, now congresswoman of Antique, revealed on Instagram that she brings her own of reusable utensils made from bamboo. Carrying her own set of knife, spoon and fork helps to curb the use of disposable plastic utensils that only litter the environment especially the beaches.

“One of my mantras in life is to walk the talk. To reduce the use of plastic utensils and plastic straws, I always take with me these reusable bamboo utensils handcrafted by the Sibalom Bamboocraft from Villafont, Sibalom. These are enclosed in a buri pouch made by artisans from Diclum in Tobias Fornier. The cloth is a patadyong woven painstakingly by the weavers from the municipality of Bugasong. Proud to note that everything comes from my home province of Antique. #reuse #notoplastics #loveantique #loveindayloren,” she said.
